Additional training opportunities

The trainings listed below are not sponsored by the Spring Lake Park Panthers Youth Football Association, but have been vetted by the board and are shared to provide opportunities for our athletes.

Summer Strength and Speed Camp at SLP High School!

PANTHER WEIGHT ROOM Summer Strength & Speed Camp is the camp for anyone going into grades 6-8 next fall who is looking to get stronger and faster this summer. Participants will train 3 days a week with SLP coaches. Our program is designed for any athlete to improve agility, speed and strength. Coaching Staff includes; John Stewart – SLP Teacher, Head Football Coach & Weight Room Coordinator; Doug Potthoff – SLP Teacher, Football & Track Coach; Sara Hale – SLP Teacher, Cross Country Assistant & Co-Head Track Coach; Daulton Olinger – SLP Teacher, Football & Track Coach. Other SLP coaches will join our staff throughout the summer.

Elk River QB and WR/DB camps

Pro MN Athletics is hosting camps at the end of April in Elk River. The camps are April 26 and 27. 3rd through 5th grade is from 2-3:30 p.m. and 6th through 8th grade is from 3:30-5 p.m.

Bethel All-Sports and Football summer camps

Bethel Football has two camp opportunities for kids this summer. An All-Sports Camp will be for kids 1st-5th grade from July 7-9. The camp will offer a variety of different sports and activities to introduce and grow kids in different skills. 

The Bethel Football Youth Camp from July 10-11 for kids in grades 3-8.

UMD Next Up Fundamental Camp

The University of Minnesota Duluth is hosting an overnight padded camp for incoming 8th and 9th grade football players on July 10-11 at UMD. This camp is designed to provide athletes with high-level coaching, skill development, and an opportunity to experience college-level football in a structured and fun environment. The goal is to help develop the next generation of football talent and begin early evaluations for your athletes.

Optimize Physical Therapy in Blaine has multiple offerings for youth strength and conditioning training.  Each class be related to athletes age, skill level and progress as athlete learns proper technique. Emphasis on lifting technique, explosive power, core training, jumping and landing mechanics. As well as functional movement patterns, injury prevention, sprint technique and explosive power.
