The trainings listed below are not sponsored by the Spring Lake Park Panthers Youth Football Association, but have been vetted by the board and are shared to provide opportunities for our athletes.
Westwood Middle School Strength and Speed - Winter
Westwood Strength and Speed is designed to introduce 7th and 8th graders to foundational fitness principles in a supportive, structured environment. Students will learn safe and effective weight room techniques, focusing on building strength, agility, and overall physical fitness. This course emphasizes proper form, discipline, and teamwork, helping young athletes develop a solid base for future sports and fitness endeavors. The course will be led by SLP Alumni and 10th Grade Football Coach Nick Wetzel.
Mondays and Wednesdays, Jan. 15 - March 5, 2:30-4:30 p.m.
Optimize Strength and Conditioning
Optimize Physical Therapy in Blaine has multiple offerings for youth strength and conditioning training. Each class be related to athletes age, skill level and progress as athlete learns proper technique. Emphasis on lifting technique, explosive power, core training, jumping and landing mechanics. As well as functional movement patterns, injury prevention, sprint technique and explosive power.
